G19 Schule thumbUnsere italienische Partnerschule hat sich zwei Jahre lang auf eine Gegeneinladung von uns gefreut, COVID hat alle Initiativen bis zum Sommer verhindert, jetzt zu Projektende haben sie es geschafft und sind nach Wien gekommen.

Am Donnerstag, den 26. August treffe ich, Petra Suko mich mit Lilli Kern in einem Hotel im 2. Bezirk, weil Minuten später eine Gruppe von 20 jugendlichen Italiener*innen eintreffen in Begleitung von weitern drei Lehrer*innen. Wir gehen im Augarten in der Bunkerei essen und planen die nächsten Tage. Es gibt eine Schulbesichtigung mit Empfang von Dir. König-Hackl, wir besuchen einen Heurigen "Sirbu" am Fuße des Kahlenberges, einmal werden Käsekrainer gegessen, ein andermal gibt es Apfelstrudel im Cafe Sperl; wir besuchen mehrmals den ersten Bezirk, Stefansdom, Graben, Michaelerplatz, Judenplatz, Mahnmäler von Rachel Whiteread und Alfred Hrdlicka, sowie Olaf Nicolai, den Karlsplatz, das Belvedere, Schloss Schönbrunn, die Hofburg mit den Kaiserlichen Räumlichkeiten, Silberkammer und Sissi Museum. Zum Abschluß gibt es noch ein Abendessen im Siebensternbräu im 7. Bezirk, Lilli Kern backt noch eine vorzügliche Jause für alle Gäste zur Heimreise.

MINUTES OF THE STUDENTS’ MOBILITY OF ERASMUS+ PROJECT “Per Artem ad Alios” in Wien from Thursday 26th August 2021 to 31st August 2021, as per the above mentioned agreed agenda.

Thu., 26th August 2021

At 12:30 the Italian teachers and students meet at the airport of Orio al Serio (BG – Italy) to leave for Wien. The plane takes off at 15:30 and lands at about 16:50. When the group of 20 students and 4 teachers arrives in Wien, they go straight to their hotel in the city centre by train. They all have accommodation at Meininger Downtown Franz Hotel. After that, at about 19:30 they meet two teachers of the partner school (Mrs. Petra Suko and Mrs. Elisabeth Kern) to go to the restaurant together. After the meeting the Italian teachers introduce the group of students and the new teacher, Miss Corbetta, who has joined the project recently, to the Austrian partners. Then they all go together to Die Schankwirtshaft Augartner to have dinner. There, the students can taste the famous Wiener Schnitzel and some typical cakes.At about 22:30 the Italians say goodbye to the two Austrian teachers and then go back to the hotel. There, the teachers tell the students about the aims of the project again and the activities to be done in Wien. After that, they all go to sleep.

Fri., 27th August 2021

In the morning, after breakfast at the Prindl, a backery near the hotel, the group goes to the partner school on foot to meet the headmistress. During the walking, accompanied by Christiane Schindegger, the Italian team can appreciate some streetart works. When the Italians arrive at Doeblinger Gymnasium, they meet the headmistress Mrs. Elisabeth Koenig-Hackl and two Austrian teachers, Petra Suko and Christiane Schindegger. The Italians receive a warm welcome, they are offered a tasty buffet and they can visit the school. Unfortunately, the Austrian students of the Erasmus Team are on holiday, so the Italians will be always accompanied by the Austrian teachers only. After the visit, Petra Suko and Christiane Schindegger take the group first to see Stephansdom and then the city centre; they lead the group along important streets in the centre and give information about the important works of art they can see. At lunch students and teachers can taste some famous Würstels at a typical kiosk in the centre and then are given some free time. At 17:00 they meet all together in front of Stephansdom again to go straight to the hotel. At about 20:00 the Italians go and have dinner at the Schöne Pearle, a restaurant not far from the hotel. There they can taste some Spätzle, a typical dish. After dinner they walk to the hotel and go to sleep.   

Sat., 28th August 2021

In the morning, after breakfast at the Prindl, the group goes to the underground to go to the palace of Schönbrunn. After the arrival at the building, the students can admire the magnificent palace and especially the Bundesgarten. Miss Corbetta reads something about the Palace, its historical background and the important royal families. After the visit, students and teachers meet Mrs. Elisabeth Kern, another Austrian teacher. After lunch with her, and after being a while at the hotel, they all go walking to admire some of the buildings made by Otto Wagner, a famous Austrian architect. In particular, the students can see an important bridge: Schemerlbrueke.Then they reach a nice area in Wien, Nussdorf, from which the group starts a tiring walk to get to the Sirbu am Nussberg Heuringer. There the Italians are offered dinner by their Austrian partners and eat together with the two teachers Elisabeth Kern and Petra Suko. After dinner they walk to get the tram to return to the hotel. After the nice evening they all go to sleep.

Sun., 29th August 2021

In the morning, after breakfast at the Prindl, the group goes to the tram station to go on a sightseeing tour of the town: from the tram, going along the Ringstrasse, the Erasmus team can see the most important places of interest in Wien: The Town Hall, the Opera, the Parliament etc. Then they get off at Belvedere Castle to visit the gardens, the castle and especially the museum with some beautiful paintings, such as “The Kiss” by Klimt. After lunch at a fast food, the Italians, together with the Austrian teacher Elisabeth Kern, go and see the Secession Palace and then go to the MuseumsQuartier. There, they altogether enter the MUMOK, the museum of modern art where they can admire paintings, sculptures, photos and works of art in general made by artists more or less famous. After a short break at the hotel, the Italian team goes to the Schöne Pearle, a restaurant not far from the hotel, where they can taste some typical Austrian food for dinner. Then they all walk back to the hotel and go to sleep.

Mon., 30th August 2021

In the morning, after breakfast at the Prindl, the Italian group walks to the city centre to visit first Michael’s church and then to meet Mrs. Petra Suko to enter Hofburg and see Sissi Museum altogether. After that the group walks to Naschmarkt to have lunch. Then the students go to buy some souvenirs and the group meets at 17:00 to go to the hotel together. For dinner, the Italian group meets Petra and Lilli at 7Stern Bräu to eat together. After being at the restaurant they all have a night walking tour in the city centre and, after saying goodbye to their dear partners, they go to sleep.

Tue., 31st August 202

In the morning, after breakfast at the Prindl, the students return to the hotel to pack and prepare some sandwiches for lunch. When everything is ready, the Italians catch the underground first and the train after to get to the airport. Then they eat something at the airport, get on the plane and leave at 15:45. The group arrives at Orio al Serio airport at about 17:00.
